Kale Chip Day!!

Just returned from the park with the boys. A little cooler today but soooo refreshing!! this morning i woke early to make my green juice and practice yoga. my body and mind were craving a quiet yoga session. we had a gathering at my house last night and as much as i love parties and social engagements i always enjoy the quiet after them- it brings me back to balance. i of course need my green juice, e-3 live and chlorella to really start my day right!!

saturday and sunday mornings and thursday nights are tai kwon doe days for mason. he now has 4 yellow stripes and will be testing out to be a yellow belt soon. i feel this is great for mason on many levels including discipline and physical activity. It combines movement with a deeper meaning of life and purpose. they teach the kids to try their hardest, do their best, to be kind to others and many other life lessons that are beneficial for everyone.

i made a huge batch of kale chips this morning that will probably only last us a week because we all love them!! check out all the kale just waiting to me smothered with goodness and dehydrated. i have two nine-tray dehydrators and all of this kale fills both to the top. This is 5 heads of kale.

i tried a new spicy curry recipe that was fabulous. check it out. You can use this spicy curry recipe as a veggie dip, salad dressing or a spread for a wrap. I used about 1/3 the batch of sauce on one head of kale. Take the sauce and massage onto the kale thoroughly. Place in dehydrator approximately 118 degrees for 8-12 hours.

Spicy Curry Sauce
3/4 cup soaked and drained sunflower seeds
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1 red bell pepper
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp tumeric
3 tsp curry powder
dash cayenne- to your taste
1/2 tsp sea salt - to your taste
1 clove garlic
water to desired consistency- approximately 1/4-1/3 cup
blend all the above ingredients.

here is the finished product with additional sauce on top!!

i also made a huge batch of my typical kale chips. All with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, nutritional yeast and sea salt and then 1/2 of this batch with cayenne too. I love the cayenne but the boys do not!!

i ate them hot out of the dehydrator!! i love kale chip days!!

Mason loves his new map!! He is learning sooo much.
